I have always been drawn to the Gayatri Mantra. It is a prayer for illumination — asking the divine light to awaken and guide the intellect toward wisdom and truth. Twenty-four syllables, carried through generations. Like many Indian children, I was taught this chant when I was very young. It was only much later in life that I discovered that when chanted correctly, the frequency increases exponentially. Also I found out from Mrs. Benita Sharma that the 32 Gayatri Mudras when done with the Gayatri Mantra make it very powerful. In mudra practice, each of the five fingers represents one of the five core elements — the Pancha Maha Bhutas — and a distinct aspect of consciousness. Joining different fingers directs the flow of prana, life force, through the body. This course combines the chant and the mudras in such a way that the elements in the body, energetic as well as physical, get balanced to create harmony and remove dis-ease. The Gayatri Mudra practice will be led by Mrs. Benita Sharma, who healed herself of cancer without conventional medication. The practice played an important part in her healing. The renowned Dr M.N. Nandakumara MBE, the executive director of The Bhavan in London and a highly acclaimed Vedic and Sanskrit scholar, will lead the chanting based on Vedic tradition. No prior experience is needed. With this course, we hope to spread a little more light across the world. A percentage of the proceeds from the course will go to charity. With love and light, Anshu Bahanda

Dates
Sunday is the day of the sun. In Vedic philosophy, the physical sun is a mirror of the Divine Creator — just as it dissolves darkness and wakens the earth, inner divine light dissolves ignorance and wakens intelligence. Three Sundays in October 2026 — 11th, 18th, 25th.

About Mrs. Benita Sharma
In 2011, what began as a lump in the neck was first treated as tuberculosis. Further investigation and a biopsy revealed something else: cancer. Mrs. Benita Sharma chose a path of faith, food, discipline and daily practice, and healed herself without conventional medication. The Gayatri Mantra and Gayatri Mudra practice was central to that journey, and she has taught it since. She shared her story with Anshu on The Wellness Algorithm; her account is personal, and not a medical protocol.
